Pomegranate Chair

The symbolic shape of the Pomegranate chair is a tribute to deeply allegorical and often holy meaning of the pomegranate fruit in different cultures.

Symbolizing immortality of the soul and perfection of nature, a fruit of “a thousand seeds”, has a very distinct place in Sergo Parajanov’s iconic films as well, that are an inseparable part of the designers' cultural memory and visual influence.

With pomegranate chair, Rooms Studio wanted to create something simple, but wild at the same time. Shaped like a Pomegranate, the back and the arms of the chair accentuates its organic, rounded forms. The simple geometric bottom half and overall raw, handmade quality give it a human-made feel. Hand-carved from reclaimed timber, the piece is truly one-of-a-kind.
