TRNK presents Resistance :: Resilience - an exhibition of contemporary Black protest art that celebrates the strength, triumph, and beauty of Black identity and activism. A portion of proceeds with be donated to The Black Youth Project.

From the seminal photojournalism of Gordon Parks to Amy Sherald’s recent portrait of the late Breonna Taylor, contextualizing the history of Black art as activism offers a paradoxically sobering, yet arousing reaction to our current state. This exhibition communicates not one truth about Black identity, but confronts the multiplicity intrinsic to centuries of resistance — and as importantly, the resilience that furthers our unfettered pursuit of self-actualization and equality.

25% of the proceeds from Resistance :: Resilience will donated to the Black Youth Project - a member-based organization, elected by the participating artists, of Black youth activists creating justice and freedom for all Black people.

This photo is titled "Power to Black People" by Anthony Geathers. "Let everyday be JUNETEENTH. Let us pick up the blueprint and roadmap of great ideas founded in Blackness left by those elders who courageously thought and fought. Only true reflection, critical thinking and action will prepare us for this moment in history." - Kenneth J. Montgomery

"As black people celebrate Juneteenth today, let us maintain the strength and unity we’ve been showing outside of cyberspace in our communities. Its gonna be all hands on deck in this decade as we build toward the future for our youth, for our communities, to seek freedom and liberation from systemic oppression by the hands of this country. This salute goes out to black people everywhere in the States and abroad. From the housing projects to the prisons to those navigating in corporate America to those growing up young in this decade to those who’ve been serving their communities through teaching and/or providing outlets for kids, families and those without a path to find their way. To those providing the esoteric knowledge. To black women everywhere. We know yall been going through it! To those that are political prisoners and still evading and fighting against this country. To the cats on the street corners surviving in America as they try to find their way. Cant forget yall. To everybody black." - Anthony Geathers
