An original, one-of-a-kind fine art collage, by the San Francisco-based artist Vanessa Woods.
This original artwork belongs to a series titled “Emic/Etic” – the latest collection by artist Vanessa Woods. The series explores subversion, classification and fantasy using materials scavenged from art books, vintage magazines and and found ephemera. The original image is decontextualized through the act of cutting and given new meaning through the process of collaging, resulting in provocative images that are often surreal and unearthly.

The artist holds an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and her works have exhibited at both the Jack Fischer Gallery in San Francisco and the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.

The artwork is prepared with a custom white frame and accompanying white, archival cotton rag paper matte. Signed by the artist.
