Director of Marketing

TRNK (www.trnk-nyc.com), the lifestyle brand for the cultivated home, is looking for a Director of Marketing. This person will be responsible for driving exponential growth in customer acquisition and brand awareness. The role will oversee all efforts around segmenting, targeting, and communicating with customers, with an eye toward driving cost-effective new customer acquisition. This role includes digital marketing, email marketing, offline marketing, media buying and business development.   Management & Planning
  • Forecast and plan paid marketing initiatives, including resource allocations across all marketing channels.
  • Identify KPIs, track and present performance. Develop reports and dashboards for use by channel by cross functional teams.
  • Identify key customer segments and identify marketing strategy for each, including optimal messaging and creative.
  • Work closely with product, merchandising and customer service teams to better understand our customers’ needs.
  Customer Acquisition
  • Plan and execute against the company’s ambitious goals for growth. Develop an integrated marketing strategy to exceed monthly revenue targets with aggressive ROI goals.
  • Scale new & existing performance marketing channels across social, search, offline (e.g. audio, direct mail, OOH), remarketing, display and more.
  • Work with product team to optimize for conversion.
  Customer Retention
  • Deeply understand and depict customer journeys across all channels.
  • Design tailored retention funnels for each customer segment and life cycle stage.
  • Lead the creation and execution of ongoing client retention efforts and loyalty programs.
  Business Development & Partnerships
  • Identify and implement partnership opportunities to cost-effectively drive brand awareness.
  Requirements
  • 2+ years digital marketing experience.
  • Data-driven, analytical skills coupled with creative thinking.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • The ability to think far outside of the box and identify new, unique growth opportunities.

LA RETAIL STORE MANAGER (TEMPORARY POSITION)

TRNK (www.trnk-nyc.com), the lifestyle brand for cultivated, contemporary living, is looking for passionate, articulate and design-minded Retail Store Manager for our upcoming pop-up shop in Culver City, CA. In this role, you’ll work very closely with our company’s CEO on staffing, sales and in-store programming. This role has an important event planning/management component for weekly in-store events. This is a temporary position that commences in mid-February and runs through the end of April. This is a great role for an experienced professional with an interest in design, sales or event planning, looking for a flexible and temporary position. The role requires a commitment of 20-35 hours a week, mostly during business hours but ideally with flexibility to also work in-store events. For the right candidate, schedules can be adjusted to both meet our business needs and accommodate external commitments.   Responsibilities:
  • Management of our sales associate team, including scheduling and training.
  • Management of in-store events, including programming calendar, vendor coordination, staffing, etc.
  • Maintain and enforce visual merchandising standards, including the management of floor rotations.
  • Management of store inventory, including receiving, stocking and loss prevention.
  • Sales and customer service in a welcoming, energetic and experiential retail environment.
  • Assist customers with checkout by processing credit card transactions and coordinating in-home delivery service for furniture items.

The role requires a commitment of 10-25 hours a week, mostly during business hours but ideally with flexibility to also work in-store events. For the right candidate, schedules can be adjusted to both meet our business needs and accommodate external commitments.   Responsibilities:
  • Sales and customer service in a welcoming, energetic and experiential retail environment.
  • Build up knowledge of TRNK products to provide sales support for walk-in customers, appointments and events.
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards by tidying, cleaning and restocking items as needed.
  • Assist customers with checkout by processing credit card transactions and coordinating in-home delivery service for furniture items.
  • Assist with in-store events as needed, including vendor coordination, production assistance, event hosting, etc.

In this role, you’ll work closely with our customers and vendors as part of a small, cross-functional team. You’ll provide a stellar customer experience both online and in-person at our new TRNK Studio in NoHo. This is a great role for a recent graduate who’s interested in design, e-commerce start-ups, and/or sales. The role requires a commitment of 20-25 hours a week, mostly during business hours but ideally with flexibility to work certain evenings or weekends. For the right candidate, schedules can be adjusted to both meet our business needs and accommodate external commitments. This position will work out of our NoHo studio in collaboration with our New York based team.   Responsibilities:
  • Ensure an outstanding customer experience by providing customer support via Zendesk.
  • Respond to customer emails, engage in live chats, and answer phone calls regarding product and order inquiries.
  • Correspond with vendors to solve order-related issues.
  • Build up knowledge of TRNK products to provide sales support for Studio appointments and events.
  Qualifications:

Design Assistant/Project Manager

TRNK is looking for a passionate, creative and detail-oriented Freelance Design Assistant/Project Manager. In this role, you’ll work closely with the company’s founders to source, coordinate and design for a range of interior design projects. As a small organization with a new service vertical, you’ll gain exposure to all aspects of running a quickly-growing startup. In addition to interior design duties, you’ll also have the opportunity to assist with the launch of pilot programs for new customer service and user experience initiatives. Based on performance, this position has strong potential to evolve into a full-time role.   Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with TRNK’s founders and clients on inspiration and concepting.
  • Prepare client deliverables, including proposals, mood boards and schematic designs.
  • Project management, including budgeting, cost analysis, invoicing, timelines, deliveries and on-site installation.
  • Lead product and materials sourcing (a strong knowledge of NYC design community a plus)
  • Manage communications with architects, contractors and vendors.
  • Maintain communications with client, including updates to design, budget, timeline, etc.
  • Assist in the management and implementation of consultative services for online-based clients (including production of deliverables – mood boards, floor plans, budgets, shopping lists)
  Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience at an interior design firm

Freelance Writers & Photographers

We’re looking for writers and photographers to help expand the content offering on our site. A ton of experience is not necessarily required, but a mature, yet approachable voice is the main thing we consider. Compensation is modest to start (as we’re still a small business), so we certainly embrace young writers motivated by the byline and exposure. Fall internships at TRNK

We’re looking for a two interns to help with several key strategic projects this fall. Interns should be self-starters, problem solvers, and have an interest in design. Merchandising Intern: TRNK is looking for a passionate, dedicated, and creative merchandising intern. As a merchandising intern, you will have the opportunity to influence merchandising strategies for our ever-evolving assortment of unique home furnishings. You will work closely with editorial and operations teams to meet merchandising goals, and work directly with the company’s founders on vision and strategy. The position provides great training and insight for those seeking careers in merchandising or buying.   Responsibilities:
  • Assistance with site merchandising, including finding, sourcing, and uploading products to CMS
  • Purchase order management and merchandise planning
  • Research potential vendors, suppliers, or product lines
  • Contributions to merchandising strategy, including concepting of thematic sales and ideas for new product-oriented editorial features
  • As-needed support for product development and vendor relations
Qualifications:
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about design and home interiors
  • Able to multi-task and meet shifting deadlines
  • Extremely detail-oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with numbers
