Untitled (Maribor, 2019/1) by Maarten Rots
An exclusive, limited-edition art print by Dutch photographer Maarten Rots.
Maarten Rots is a Dutch artist working with photography as a medium. He travels Europe with a camper van to uncover abstract images in daily surroundings, exploring the effects of light and shadow on textured, architectural objects.
Rots intentionally utilizes the flattening effect of the camera to produce photos that lean toward graphic imagery. The resulting works are commonly confused for paintings or drawings, which he emphasizes further by printing on matte, textured paper.
This series, curated exclusively for TRNK Editions, is from photos taken between 2018-19 throughout Germany, Spain, Slovenia, Austria and Portugal.
